On October 1, 2006 I woke up with the idea that I would start a blog! That blog was The Perplexed Investor. It was a chronicle of my efforts to be a more savvy investor. I did some really great work there, most particularly on on the financial crisis. Hard to believe that was more than 8 years ago!
I'm a natural born researcher, and I dug up stuff on the financial crisis that was not published anywhere else. Most particularly, my work on the mortgage insurers and the problem with the tetonic shift on the risk curve. I was in deep internet space when I found this stuff--but such is my proclivity.
Blogging spares my off-line friends and family from having to listen to my boring interests, some of which I recount here. As much as anything, this space is my memory. I can lookup when I've lost my pets, or when other important life things have happened.
I began my Leisa-Land Blogspot to simply chronicle my off-line life interests. Hopefully, I've not put too many asleep! You will find concentrations of posts based on whatever my new interest is!
In my offline life I have several roles: business consultant, wife, mother, petowner, sister, daughter and cousin. I will not pretend that I've found a balanced life....but I suppose that we all find balance over time. Life is more balanced now than it was 10 years ago.
I am grateful for the many blessings that I have; but I recognize that many are not so fortunate. I don't argue about the why's or wherefore's of any of that. What is important, to me, is to have a grateful heart for what I have; a compassionate mind for understanding the plight of others; a clear mind to help solve problems that come my way; strong resolve to do the right thing; forgiveness to recognize my weaknesses and those of others; and strong shoulders to help others with their heavy loads. My life is no more complicated than that.
Thanks for visiting here.
